• Valencia will bring together more than 300 attendees at the congress on renewable energies promoted by AVAESEN
• More than 50 experts, communicators, businessmen and authorities will take part in the full programme on 31 January at Caixaforum València.
All or almost nothing. That is the outlook for the renewable energy sector in the Valencia Region in 2024. From a 2023 in which barely a few dozen megawatts have been installed in the autonomous region compared to thousands in the rest of Spain, to a 2024 where hundreds of files are waiting to know their future, and it will have to be in this year to meet the deadlines set by law, or the opportunity will be lost.Against this backdrop, the 3rd Energy Revolution Congress organised by AVAESEN, which will be held on Wednesday 31 January, has become the essential forum for the sector to address the challenges of 2024. Moratoriums for the installation of renewable energies, the slowness of the administration in approving files or the suspension of licenses in municipalities will be some of the current issues of concern to the sector that will be addressed at the III National Congress of Renewable Energy Energy Energy Revolution to be held at CaixaForum València. These are issues that focus the attention of companies and professionals along with others such as reindustrialisation to face Asian competition, the problem of supplying components, or the arrival of green hydrogen as an alternative for the electrification of the economy. All of this will be addressed at this congress organised by AVAESEN, the Valencian Association of Energy Sector Companies. The organisers expect around 300 professionals from the renewables sector to attend the event to listen to more than 50 top-level speakers and enjoy learning and quality networking.
The president of AVAESEN, Marcos J. Lacruz, stated that “in 2023, only 32 megawatts of photovoltaic plants will be connected in the Valencia Region compared to what has happened in Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, Aragon and Extremadura, where each one has developed parks with 3,000 MW of power”, a reflection of the situation in the sector.
At the Energy Revolution Congress there will also be time to talk about financing, taxation and innovation in the sector, issues that are also topical for all those involved in the renewables value chain. One of the novelties will be the ‘1st Night of Energy Leaders’, which will take place on the eve of the congress, on 30 January, in the Veles e Vents building in Valencia with a full programme that will bring together the sector in a more relaxed atmosphere, more conducive to networking. During the course of the evening, the award will be presented to the leading person in the renewable energy sector in 2024.
The 1st Night of Energy Leaders is, according to Pedro Fresco, General Director of AVAESEN, a symptom of the consolidation of the 3rd National Energy Revolution Congress as he has assured that “the Valencian Community has a business network of renewable energy leaders at national and international level, we have Valencian companies working around the world, which generate thousands of jobs and wealth, which is why we have devised this event prior to the congress, to recognize the work that outside our borders is valued more than in our land”. Tickets for the 1st Energy Night can be purchased on the congress website.
The 3rd Energy Revolution Congress, part of the activities of the European Green Capital 2024, has the support of companies in the sector such as Statkraft, Ibox Energy, Esparity Solar, Tríodos Bank, Valfortec, Forestalia, Genia Global, Natec Sunergy BV, Abo Wind, IM2, Turbo Energy, Andersen, Fi Group, Prosolia or Silicon Valen, companies providing expert speakers.
