On September 12, 2024, a significant step as part of the SEED project was taken at the University of Western Macedonia with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at establishing the Just Transition Centre of Vocational Excellence (JTCoVE-WM) in Western Macedonia, Greece. This collaboration brings together several key partners: the Lifelong Learning Center (KEDIVIM) of the University of Western Macedonia , the Experimental Public SAEK of Kozani, KEDIVIM Ermis, KEDIVIM Orama, the university’s spinoff INNORA, the Technical Chamber of Greece (Western Macedonia branch), the CluBE-Cluster of Bioeconomy and Environment of Western Macedonia, the PPC S.A., the Διαχειριστής Ελληνικού Δικτύου Διανομής Ηλεκτρικής Ενέργειας Α.Ε. HEDNO S.A. and the Just Transition Institute Greece
The signing of the MoU marks a pivotal moment in advancing sustainable development and promoting innovative vocational education and training in the region of Western Macedonia, Greece. Coordinated by the Lifelong Learning Center of the University of Western Macedonia and led by Prof. Eleni Griva and Ass. Prof. ATHINA KRESTOU, the initiative will contribute to strengthening local infrastructure, developing new skills, and fostering innovation.
