The Spring School 2026 on Solar Off-Grid Fundamentals and Life-Cycle Engineering successfully took place from 23–27 February 2026 at Hochschule Bochum, Germany.
This intensive one-week programme brought together students, recent graduates, and professionals from diverse backgrounds to explore the latest developments in solar off-grid systems and sustainable engineering practices.
Participants engaged in a comprehensive learning experience that combined: In-depth exploration of solar off-grid systems, covering both fundamental principles and real-world applications, a strong focus on life-cycle engineering, including sustainability and recycling of solar technologies, blended learning through preparatory online lectures followed by on-site, hands-on teamwork, interdisciplinary collaboration and exchange among international participants
The programme offered free participation and awarded 5 ECTS credits, providing both academic value and practical skills.
Overall, the Spring School created a dynamic environment for knowledge exchange, innovation, and collaboration, empowering participants to contribute to the transition toward sustainable energy systems.
